Command Systems, Inc.
Health insurance premiums have increased exponentially causing us to have employee contributions toward the monthly premiums of $10-$20 per pay or $260-$560 annually depending on individual or family coverage. This same plan is a high deductible policy through the insurance carrier and company funded to cover the deductibles. The paperwork can be intensive. Our employees better understand the real cost of their health benefits and have been more proactive in managing their own healthcare. All these creative methods have helped to keep the overall cost of health insurance to our company out of double digit annual increases.
We have to spend far more time being creative in purchasing our healthcare products, which takes time away from running the company. Our hourly wages are somewhat lower due to the benefits cost, and retention of younger employees, that do not realize the benefits, is difficult.
